Olbermann is right on the money.
Part I
Part II
Assassination. Assassination. I’m in shock that she even let the word cross her lips. How could she? What was she thinking?
The Clintons have proven again and again that they will say and do anything to get elected. My wife and I spent the 90s defending them against the GOP’s attacks, but in this campaign, their narcissistic antics have done more to improve the credibility of those attacks than Ken Starr’s army of lawyers and unlimited budget ever could.
This week she traveled to Florida and ripped the scab off the 2000 Florida election, comparing Obama, who has followed the rules, with the GOP who tried to block the recount and steal the election. She apparently plans to send bus loads of supporters to DC to protest the DNC rules committee’s adjudication of the Michigan-Florida dispute, much like the GOP’s “Brooks Brothers Riot” in 2000.
The context of her assassination remark came up as she was playing the victim card, complaining that “her opponent and his supporters” want to drive her out of the race. Obama has never asked her to leave the race — he’s always said the opposite. Sure, some Obama supporters have asked her to drop out, as have some of her own supporters (like Roger Altman).
She has greatly insulted those who still remember and grieve the political assassinations of RFK, JFK, MLK and others, and those who fear for the well being of our current leaders. How could she not see this?
Here is Ted Kennedy’s eulogy for Robert F. Kennedy — still one of the most emotionally moving moments in recent American history. In hearing it again, I better understood Keith’s anger and the callousness and obtuseness of her remarks. There are some topics too raw that you simply don’t casually trample over them when you’re an aspiring president.

It is so sad watching a grown woman lose her marbles on national tv. I knew she was going to completely lose it, just not this quickly!

Hillary has friggin lost it. She has become a gun-toting raving lunatic! Keith is right on point!!! I saw his ’special report’ as he did it and I was cheering! Enough of Political Correctness. Time for the truth.

That sums up how I feel about Clinton right now.

I think “lost it” is about right. I think something is terribly, terribly wrong there and she needs help. I also don’t think she’ll be the VP pick.

Call Hillary crazy if you like, but her recent comment is in line with how she has always conducted her campaign. She knows exactly what she’s doing. HRC has been planting seeds of doubt against Obama from early on in the primaries. She is a professional victim who throws the rock then hides her hand. What is frightening is that some psycho might come out of hibernation and try to harm another human being because of a cold, calculated and insulting comment. I just wonder if she is hoping Obama will be assassinated or if she thinks that undecided delegates and voters will think twice about supporting him because of that possibility.

Well said, Keith. Bravo. Remembering Bobby brings a tear as well. However, Hillary will do or say anything. Its not like Hillary’s been screwing-up all along either; she simply misspoke, again. Anyway, Hillary will wangle her way out of it, and blame those who cry foul. She’s done it a thousand times. A tasteless comment taken out of context? And, wasn’t another Kennedy (JFK Jr.) slated for her current senate seat? The Clintons: truly in a class by themselves: http://theseedsof9-11.com

Hillary said an unfortunate comment but once again KO make a fool of myself, unamshamedly showing just how much he dislikes Hillary and how he and his cable network MSNBC is in the tank for Obama.
Even the Obama camp understood it was unfortunate and the son of the assasinated Pres gave Hillary the benefit of the doubt. If these two can calmly weigh in on the subject I think KO can controll his emotions and bias and give a more rational, mature, PROFESSIONAL opinion, not a hysterical, judgemental, nasty, negative school-girl rant.

It’s good to see that you’re above bias and name calling. Yes, the Clintons enlisted their supporter RFK Jr. to issue a supportive comment, kudos to the Clinton war room for that swift action. But the audacity of Hillary’s comment was not about RFK – she didn’t insult him or his memory in the least. The issue was her implication that BO could meet the same fate as RFK and that’s why she was staying in the race. The person deserving an apology is Barack, his family, and America generally, as no politician should ever utter such an implication. But Hillary refuses to issue such an apology, and in fact seems to be “blaming” Barack somehow.

Keith Olbermann, whom I don’t particularly care-for, (whom I only watch during commercial interludes of Greta Van Susterern, or Bill O’Reilly, when he is “in-reruns”, after 11:00 ET), I say, Keith Olbermann has created a Great Speech! A terrific, incisive commentary of this 2008 election. Keith Olbermann should receive an award… when heads have cooled… for his decisive remarks regarding Sen H. Clinton. I know he is a smart man. (He was very smart during the Clinton Impeachment). I hated him then; and, I continue to dislike his Anti-Bush diatribes. However, he DOES BRING an unusual, and insightful “look” at the news. He finds stories that are very coplelling, and ‘unknown’. In many ways, I trust him. I vaguely remember that he “dropped-out” of TV, around 1999 or 2000 … he said he would only “do sports.” Well, now he’s back ‘big time’. If he could be as cool as “Bill O”, (as he says), I think he could be someone who could dominate the media. —— He’s so passionate, and so verbally-adept. I hope he can lose some of his “awful ardour”; and become a National Spokesman for the media. —- Certainly, we need someone. We all like Megan Kelly & Bill Hemmer. We all like Wolf Blitzer; and Chris Wallace. We like Tim Russert; and Bill Moyers. We like “Bill O “. I’m liberal & conservative, both! I want to see Mr Olberman and Mr O’Reilly, BOTH!, during my ‘news-breifing.’ All the wonderful people ‘doing-the-news” are great! But, I think there IS a place for the next Walter Cronkite, or the next Edward R. Murrow, or the next Drew Peterson, or Dorothy Killgallen. Mr Olbermann CAN eclipse Bill O’Reilly, (whom we love & watch every night), by huddling with his producers and reporters, who have served him so well; and, then, he has to make “the jump”, with his own intellect, to ‘leap-beyond’ where he is now. He “HAS-IT.” Whatever “It” is: he’s got it. He has “it” like Lucille Ball, or Walter Cronkite, or Ted Turner.. or whomever you name. I’d like to see it. Look. Stephen Colbert is presently the “best-name-In-News.”!!! My. We love him… but, shouldn’t we have a “Certain Name In News?”
Listen: I’m going with Meagan Kelly, or John Scott … etc etc. Or, certainly, Bill O’Reilly.
But: How about it, Mr Olbermann? Can you “do” a ‘Henry James’, in our ‘viewing life time?
DO IT!
We await.
Best Wishes – John Ruskin
(PS – I hate blogging. It’s so ridiculous).
