In an effort to boost her foreign policy experience, Hillary has claimed to have played an “instrumental” role in negotiating the Northern Ireland peace accord (debunked earlier here) and has described her trip to Bosnia a decade ago in breathtakingly dramatic terms. The latter has also been debunked by the photo of her with Sheryl Crow, Sinbad and Chelsea singing with Hillary on a stage during the trip (and the recent remarks of Sinbad). Now this new video directly contradicts her account of how she landed in Bosnia:

But at least Shrillary is “fully vetted.” Does that mean that all the lies are forgotten? They will be revetted in fall.

How does this show she was lying??
She could have been referring to another city or visit in Bosnia? when they had to run to their car.. Is it known for a fact that she only was in a plane that landed in Bosnia ONCE? Could her story also be true? This doesn’t prove that she’s lying at all… They could be TWO separate instances of landing in a Bosnian city… Anyone mentioned this idea? I’m not trying to “spin”, just seriously wondering if that could be the case.. for the sake of the truth? Someone needs to find that out before they accuse her of lying.. She may very well have come in at another time on a plane and had to run to the cars to avoid sniper fire for all we know…

There was one trip to Tuzla and this was it. There is no sniper fire in the photo. There is a welcome party, and she said there was none. Far from running to their cars as she claimed, they stop to greet the “acting president” and a young girl with flowers. No sign of urgency evident. Denial is a powerful emotion…

Thanks for your answer. I just happened upon this site on the net by following some link here and I don’t know a lot about Hillary’s trips to Bosnia.. Did she ever land in any other city besides what is on this video? Could she have gotten the city name mixed up? If, in fact, this was the only landing that Hillary ever had on that trip — then clearly she would be lying alright and quite imaginatively at that! and that sure would be horrible.. I’m just wondering, is it possible that there could have been some other landing in Bosnia in another city perhaps? where they had to run to their cars? She should be asked for clarification on that.. thanks for responding.

Hillary’s campaign spokesman, Howard Wolfson, was interviewed this morning on MSNBC about this controversy as the video was aired, and he did not dispute that Hillary’s comments pertained to the Tuzla trip in the video. Wolfson instead tried to put what the video showed in a more favorable context by referring to contemporaneous press reports that described the Bosnia trip in more dramatic terms.

Did Wolfson not explain this? How do you put the video in more “favorable context”? Clearly in that video, there WAS a greeting, etc.. Hillary has to be talking of some other landing in another Bosnian city.. OR she is a complete liar to the Nth degree.. She didn’t actually say Tuzla on the interview part of that video.. She better tell people what other city it was soon or explain this. If she really did make all that up, then we definitely would not want her to be President.. I just wonder if there could have been another city? still need clarity.. Thanks again.

He filibustered by first launching a tirade against perceived slights by Obama’s campaign, rather than answer Mika’s question directly. But I think it’s obvious that if Hillary’s dramatic description about her trip to Bosnia was about a different city/different trip than the one depicted in the video, Wolfson would have been very quick and forceful in pointing that out immediately, and he would have criticized MSNBC for running the “wrong” video and other footage from NBC news had of the event during his live interview with Mika. Such as “hey, what the hell are you guys doing running that video — it’s of the wrong event!” He didn’t do that. Instead, he read selected quotes from other media stories of the time that he argued supported Hillary’s account, despite the video’s clear contradiction. I didn’t find his selected citations particularly persuasive. And the additional footage that MSNBC aired made it more clear that Hillary lied: there was no running to cars while under sniper fire; there was a slow, smile-filled stroll to a welcoming party on the tarmac where Hillary was greeted by the acting president and a young girl with flowers.

I actually had been for Hillary at one point, now I’m kind of sickened… unless she can come up with another city where that really did happen and say “I got the 2 cities mixed up”.. Otherwise, Clinton is the one telling the “fairy tales”. Thanks.. sorry for so many posts.. I was at first coming to her defense thinking there must be another city, but like you say, Wolfson would have said so if there was…
